March Update

Hi! I have lots of photos to share.

First up: two ornament finishes. These will be Christmas presents this year. I have four done and one more to do.

Merry Christmas by Little House Needleworks

Let Us Adore Him by Country Cottage Needleworks

I finished Mermaid Azure by Nora Corbett. She is stitched on PTP Glacier cashel. My niece selected this mermaid, and it will be a present for her.

My other niece selected Ophelia's Pearl by Nora Corbett. I am stitching her on PTP Coastal cashel.

Lastly, my progress on Red. I am working on her cape now. It is a good thing I like the color red since there is so much of it.

Thanks for stopping by!

January Update

I had my first two finishes of 2016 in January. The first one was Merry Merry! by Country Cottage Needleworks. I stitched it on Star Sapphire jobelan. For a little extra bling, I added white beads to the red part of the tree.

My next finish was Be Merry by Country Cottage Needleworks. I stitched this one on cream belfast. I substituted Turkish Red by Weeks Dye Works for the specified red in the pattern. Both of these ornaments are quite adorable :)

My New Year's Day start was Medieval Enchantment by Passione Ricamo. I am using Earthen Belfast by Picture this Plus. I probably will not pick her back up until I am done with Red.

Below is my progress on Red. I love her dress!

I plan to stitch a couple more ornaments in February. I also started Mermaid Azure by Nora Corbett this weekend, and I hope to finish her in February too :)

IHSW January

It has been awhile since I last posted!

For ISHW January, I worked on Gardenia by Nora Corbett. She is on PTP's crystal Chrysalis cashel linen. She was one of my new year starts.

Since I have not posted in awhile, I have a lot of pictures to show :)

My other new year start was Old World Vinery by Chatelaine. This one is on 32 ct ivory jobelan. I can't wait to get some more progress in, but I need to finish Lady Hera first.

This weekend I also finished Our Love Nest by Country Cottage Needleworks into a box. I thought it turned out pretty well, and I am glad it is no longer sitting in my drawer of finished cross-stitch.

I have been working a Lady Hera. It is about time I finished her, but the peacock tail is huge and taking some time to stitch! Hopefully I will finish her up in February.

Since I was getting a bit tired of Lady Hera, I also started At the Met by Mirabilia. I love the colors in her sash.

I also finished Knock Knock by Prairie Schooler into a box last October. I am finishing several of my other pieces into boxes too.

Last, but not least, is Luna by Nora Corbett. I stitched this piece for my sister's family, and it was their Christmas present.

Catching up!

It is been awhile, but I do have some pictures :)

First up: framed Take Me Out to the Ballgame. This will be in hubby's office whenever he puts it up. There is a bit of a glare on the glass.

Second: framed When Witches Go Riding. I already have this one hanging in the kitchen. I put it up at the beginning of September :) Ellie's tale also made an appearance.

Third: I finished Sunflowers in Summer by Country Cottage Needleworks at the beginning of September.

Last: My new start. Luna by Nora Corbett. She is on 28 ct woodland violet jobelan. My niece picked out this pattern when we stopped at The Stitching Bee in Wisconsin. It is going to be a Christmas present for their family.

Thanks for stopping by!

August IHSW

I am a little late in posting, but I worked on Sunflowers in Summer by Country Cottage Needleworks for IHSW. It is a cute summer pattern :)

We discovered DogTV, and I have been playing that for Mandy while I cross stitch. It has relaxing music, and I am not distracted by the TV since the show is for dogs. If you have dogs, I recommend giving DogTV a try.

After I finish this pattern, my plan is to work on Lady Hera. That is my plan...but I might have to start one of the new Nora Corbett witches :) Have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

January IHSW

I hope everyone had a great weekend!

For IHSW, I finished Gingerbread Cottage by Country Cottage Needleworks. It is my first finish of 2104 :) I have always liked this pattern and finally starting working on it this past Christmas.

I also worked on Morning Glory by Nora Corbett. This was my New Year's Day start, and I am happy to be working on her again. She will be a Christmas present this year.

Thanks for stopping by!

Last finishes of 2013

It has been awhile since I wrote a blog!

We have had a busy fall. We moved into our house in October. Unpacking was not fun. I was actually sick of  seeing boxes labeled crafts and fabric-the horror! We still have a few boxes here and there that need to be unpacked.

I did not get a lot of stitching done during the fall due to said move, but I am starting to get back into the swing of things now that the holidays are done. I have big plans for 2014-like finishing up Lady Hera. Poor girl has not seen any stitching on her since August or so.

I put up When Witches Go Riding at the end of October, and I will have to finish it before next Halloween. Sadly, I do not have a picture of the progress I did make. In November, I started Happy Harvest by Country Cottage Needleworks. I love fall designs and had to stitch this one.

I also finished Cardinal Winter by Little House Needleworks before Christmas. Someday I will make it into an ornament :)

I started Gingerbread Cottage by Country Cottage Needleworks and have made good progress on it. I will finish this one sometime in January!

Happy New Year!

IHSW July

I had a case of startitis this IHSW weekend :) But that is ok, because it is my reward for suffering through a bout of vertigo last week. I finally started to feel normal this weekend and what a relief - I can eat and move around. Poor hubby had to do all the chores and take care of Mandy, our smart, rambunctious dog.

I wanted something a bit simple to work on this weekend. The thought of working on the peacock in Lady Hera with all the color changes did not appeal to me in my vertigo state. So, I started Evening Primrose by Nora Corbett as the pattern has large block of colors. The fabric is Crystal Meditation lugana by Picture This Plus. While I really like this fabric, the weave is tight, and the holes are hard to see. Below is my progress on Evening Primrose. It is all white stitching so far, and it does not show up real well in the photo (look closely), but you can see the sparkly fabric.

Since I did not care to work with the fabric for Evening Primrose much, I started Little Miss Sunflower by Little House Needleworks. The fabric is Sage jobelan, and it is much easier to stitch with :) I am going to alternate between these two patterns so I don't get too annoyed with Evening Primrose.

Lastly, I finished up Farm Fresh by Country Cottage Needleworks a week or so ago. It was a fun, cute stitch. I am not sure what is up with the photo, but the bottom left corner seems a bit faded. The colors look better on the right side.

Princess Parade

I have a new finish: Princess Parade by Country Cottage Needleworks. I stitched this one for my three, adorable nieces :) My three-year-old niece, Olivia, loves princesses, and I thought this would be great for her. The yellow princess is even holding a little frog. Too cute!

Over the weekend I was not feeling well, and I spent a lot of time stitching. I worked on the peacock in Lady Hera. I will post a pic when I get a bit more done, but the colors are amazing. I also started Farm Fresh yesterday by Country Cottage Needleworks because I needed a new start :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Back from the Framer and a Finish

My first finish of 2013: Our Love Nest by Country Cottage Needleworks

This one was such a fun and cute stitch! Although, I believe I managed to get wine on the back of the fabric. How? I have no idea, but I saw some purple spots, rushed to rinse them off, and then the green thread started to bleed a little. I had to restitch some of the clouds as they had a green tint in a few of the stitches. If you look closely at the top, you might see a little staining from the wine. I plan to mat this piece, and hopefully it will cover up the stains.

Last week I picked up Hillside Travelers by Little House Needleworks from the framer. It turned out great :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

New Year Starts/Christmas Finishes

Happy New Year!

My two New Year starts were Cattleya Orchid by Chatelaine and Our Love Nest by Country Cottage Needleworks. I love the colors in the Orchid. They are so bright and cheerful. I did avoid working in the center of the square because it has some over one stitching. I will get to it later.

Here is my second start, Our Love Nest. The pink thread, Blushing Beauty by Crescent Colours, looks so pretty. I stitched a bunch on this one last night while watching Downton Abbey (yay!), and my plan is to finish it up before Valentine's Day.

Lastly, I have two ornaments that I finished up before Christmas. They are Tree Farm and Snow in Love by Little House Needleworks. The reindeer in Tree Farm looks so cute :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

2013 Stitching Plans

I hope everyone had a great Christmas! We did minus the trip to the vet on Christmas night because Mandy chewed through a small bottle of advil and may have ingested some. I am not entirely sure how much was left in the bottle, but we did find two advils on the floor that she did not eat. We took her home that same night, and she did not appear to have any side effects. The vet assessment said Mandy "has a tendency for dietary indiscretion." I thought it was a hilarious statement for saying she eats things she shouldn't. We are definitely trying to be more careful about keeping stuff out of her reach.

On to my stitching plans for this year:

I plan to finish:
1. Japanese Garden
2. Lady Hera

And I plan to start:

1. Lady Alexandra by Mirabilia on Wood Violet jobelan (a light purple-gray fabric)

2. Water Lily by Nora Corbett on Water Lily jobelan (a light green fabric)

3. Our Love Nest by Country Cottage Needleworks

4. Strawberry House by Little House Needleworks

5. Flower Panel 3- Cattleya Orchid by Chatelaine. Click the link for a picture, and below are the goodies for the design :)

These are pieces I definitely plan to start, but I am sure there will be some random Christmas ornaments and other pieces that I will also work on. I will be starting Cattleya Orchid and Our Love Nest today for my New Year starts after I stop at the framers and finish my errands.

Happy New Year!!

December IHSW

Happy Holidays!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. For IHSW this month, I finished Silent Night by Country Cottage Needleworks. I started this one earlier this month because the design was too cute, and I loved the verse. I did make a few changes to the design. I used gold metallic thread for the stars (because I wanted them sparkly), and I used CC's Spinach for the pine trees and branches instead of the called-for green thread.

It is hard to believe that this is going to be my last finish of 2012! Where has the year gone??

This week I will be doing some Christmas baking- turtle candy and pecan pie. Yum! I also plan to work on Lady Hera because she has been neglected due to all my Christmas stitching. She needs her face stitched :)

Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

Autumn Finishes

I hope everyone had a great weekend! My arm is a little sore from playing fetch with Mandy at the dog park yesterday. Normally, hubby throws the ball, but he was not here. Guess I need to work on my arm muscles :)

This week I have several autumn-themed finishes. First up is The Apple Orchard by Country Cottage Needleworks. It turned out really cute and reminds me of when I used to go apple picking with my mom as a child. And then making homemade applesauce-yum!

I also finished October by Little House Needleworks. I changed out the Crescent Colour's Pumpkin Harvest for DMC 922. Pumpkin Harvest looked a little pale, and I wanted my pumpkins orange, not anemic looking :)

Lastly, I finished Autumn Band Sampler, and it is now hanging up :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
